My name is Markus Muyres, born on June 21, 1938 in The Hague. In my youth I went to the Children's Academy of Fine Arts twice a week. When I was 16 years old I left school and started working in a stonemasonry. At the time, a future as a painter was much too uncertain. I went to the Evening Academy for Fine Arts for another 5 years.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. When I was 38 years old, I was completely disapproved of my work.

I filled in the free time by painting again. Out of pure passion I mainly painted portraits, still lifes, landscapes or seascapes for family and friends.

Due to my illness I was forced to switch from my dominant right hand to my left hand.

I passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age of 83.

2 weeks before that I proudly agreed with the content of my website.

I have enjoyed this fun activity throughout my life.

I hope you will experience this when viewing my oil paintings, watercolors, pen and pencil drawings.
